Hacksaw Gaming
The studio behind King Carrot
Company History
Hacksaw Gaming was founded in Sliema, Malta in 2018 by NetEnt and Leander Games veterans with a Swedish studio background. Scratch cards were the early business before the 2020 pivot to video slots reshaped the label.
King Carrot belongs to the studio's Pocketz series — quirky, family-of-characters themes that sit apart from the graffiti and gunfire elsewhere in the catalogue. Its 7×7 grid is one of the largest layouts Hacksaw builds on, well beyond the usual 5×5 or 6×5.
One signature mechanic per title still applies: the mass symbol transformation in King Carrot converts an entire low-paying symbol type into Carrots at once, a system found in no other release. MGA and UKGC licences and independent RNG certification back the game.
What They Do Best
Mass Transformation
When King Carrot lands he picks a low-paying symbol and turns every copy on the grid into a Carrot at once — a single drop can spawn a large cluster instantly, unique to King Carrot.
Large Cluster Grid
The 7×7 layout gives 49 positions, so clusters swell far larger than on the studio's smaller grids and pay in steep steps as they grow.
Bird Attack Reshuffle
A bird shadow clears a full row or column, cascading in fresh symbols that can extend clusters — and it protects locked Carrots during the Free Spins.
Accessible Volatility
At Medium (3/5), King Carrot is one of the gentler ways into Hacksaw's cluster style.

Fairness & Licensing
BMM Testlabs certifies the RNG in King Carrot. The symbol-transformation logic is RNG-determined rather than tied to potential payout, and demo and real-money play run the same 96.30% model.
Why King Carrot?
King Carrot is Hacksaw's biggest-grid cluster slot and the most approachable one. The mass transformation — flipping an entire symbol type to Carrots in a single move — is exclusive to this title, and the Bird Attack keeps the 7×7 board churning up fresh clusters. At 3/5 volatility with 96.30% RTP and a 10,000x cap, it is cluster play without the punishing droughts.
